With the new global mobile phone application ”Trends” TeliaSonera makes it possible to influence and follow the current telecom trends in real time. The application, available from both Android Market and Apple App Store, is available in twelve European and Asian countries. With “Trends” TeliaSonera advances the annual trend survey into a real time digital dialog.

TeliaSonera has been conducting annual trend surveys in Scandinavia, Lithuania and Kazakhstan for the last five years. It has been an ongoing strategy to both know and predict coming trends and even if the analysis often has been on the money so to speak they have lost their value quite rapidly.

- The telecom industry is changing quicker than any other industry, which means we have to adapt our analyzing methods in order to always be updated. With the Trends app we will be able to present more relevant reports several times per year, says Thomas Jönsson, Head of External Communications at TeliaSonera.

For this reason TeliaSonera changed way of conducting these trend surveys. Through “Trends” TeliaSonera will be able to analyze ongoing trends and at the same time maximize their presence in social media and further strengthen their dialogue with the surrounding world.

The Trend app will be launched to the Swedish App Store and Android market on 15 February and the first report based on the app is released in March. Later this spring, additional reports will follow from surveys of TeliaSonera’s other markets in Norway, Denmark, Finland, Spain, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldavia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
