The number of unique users of TeliaSonera’s mobile Internet portal SurfPort exceeded one million per month this summer, signifying an increase of over 60 percent in one year. SurfPort is the leading mobile portal in the Nordic and Baltic countries.

SurfPort, TeliaSonera’s mobile Internet portal, has been developed to make it easier for TeliaSonera customers to surf the internet using the mobile phone and to access both useful and entertaining mobile services. During 2005 and 2006, SurfPort has been rolled out in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Lithuania and Estonia. This summer the number of regular users per month exceeded one million. The number includes only SurfPort users. The total number of mobile Internet users among TeliaSonera customers is considerably higher. Surfing the Internet on the mobile has become substantially easier, as the mobile network capacity has been increased. In addition, an increasing number of users have a mobile phone that supports mobile Internet surfing. - It is great that so many people have discovered the benefits of SurfPort. One million regular visitors who use several of the services on the portal each month proves that SurfPort is well on its way to becoming a service for the mass market, says Henrik Nilsson, head of SurfPort at TeliaSonera AB. The focus in the development of SurfPort has been on user friendliness. Customers and partners were involved early in the process and contribute constantly with thoughts and ideas about how to further improve the service. - SurfPort can be described as a department store which you can visit wherever you are. We have an extensive service offering, which is important in view of TeliaSonera’s broad customer base. The most popular services vary from country to country, and the combination of both international and local content is an important success factor, says Henrik Nilsson. In Sweden, the newspaper Aftonbladet is the most visited service on SurfPort, but TV, music and stock exchange information are also popular. In Estonia, where SurfPort was launched this summer, banking services are attractive
