TeliaSonera is signing an agreement with Posten for fixed and mobile telephony as well as for the modernization of Posten’s internal network. The order value is approximately SEK 280 million distributed over three years.

The agreement entails that TeliaSonera will be responsible for Posten’s internal communication platform, which comprises 5,000 fixed PBX connections, 4,500 mobile extensions and 11,000 mobile telephones. The agreement also covers voice traffic.

TeliaSonera will also upgrade Posten’s company network to a high quality, IP-based network with increased bandwidth. As a result, the network will be able to handle more advanced communication services, such as IP telephony and mobile reporting services. The company network includes 900 offices and over 1,600 delivery locations for Posten in Sweden.

“Our operations stretch from Ystad to Karesuando and we therefore need a secure solution that allows us to reach everyone, everywhere. TeliaSonera can provide the technology and competence we need,” says Joss Delissen, CIO, Posten AB.

The agreement also includes a number of options for TeliaSonera to deliver additional communication services to Posten.

“We are upgrading Posten’s company network so it can handle more advanced communication services in the future. We are looking forward to helping Posten with this project,” says Dan Strömberg, Head of Global Accounts, TeliaSonera.
