TeliaSonera has signed a managed services agreement with the SWECO* consulting company. The agreement, valued at about SEK 50 million, is for a three-year period beginning July 1, 2007 and covers approximately 600 connections for fixed and IP telephony and 2,400 mobile connections and WAN functionality. The agreement also includes a fixed price for the traffic in each managed service. TeliaSonera will assume total responsibility for ensuring that each service functions as agreed, that it is developed in line with the customer’s growing requirements, and that technical equipment is maintained. The objective is to create a communications structure providing improvements and cost savings for SWECO.

“Managed services agreements are the new way to purchase communication services,” says Anders Tillander, Acting Head of the Business segment at TeliaSonera. “More and more companies want a ready-to-use package that they can simply order and implement.”

Facts about Managed Services
The agreement signed with SWECO is part of TeliaSonera’s initiative to focus on managed services. Simply descibed, managed services mean that TeliaSonera assumes total responsibility for the technology behind the communications service and the customer purchases a complete, managed function.
