TeliaSonera Sweden acquiring Flextronics Network Services operation TeliaSonera Sweden is acquiring the product portfolio and operation for customer-placed equipment from Flextronics Network Services. This chiefly relates to office exchanges and LAN equipment. The operation TeliaSonera Sweden is now acquiring includes functions for product management, sales support, delivery, and technical support. Some 130 people currently working on this at Flextronics Network Services will be offered employment in TeliaSonera Sweden. The acquisition is being made so as to be able to integrate the product portfolio with the rest of TeliaSonera's product range. In the past, TeliaSonera has accounted for about 80 percent of Flextronics' turnover in this operation. "This is one way to improve our service and our offering. By integrating the product portfolio for customer-placed equipment with our other operations, we make it simpler for customers when contacting us," said Anders Gylder, Head of the Large Corporate Segment, TeliaSonera Sweden. The acquisition does not include resources for carrying out installation and service work in the field. Flextronics Network Services now comprises the main supplier of these contract services to TeliaSonera Sweden. Provided the Swedish Competition Authority gives the parties its approval, it is anticipated the agreement will come into force by 1 July this year.
