Next year a brand-new IP-based communications network will link all 3,650 representatives for the gaming company Svenska Spel in Sweden. The network will be the largest of its kind to be built by TeliaSonera Sweden. The estimated value of the order is SEK 200 million.

When the IP network is ready in the autumn of 2005, it will be the largest data network in Sweden, measured in terms of the number of connection points. Representatives for Svenska Spel from Karesuando in the far north of Sweden, to Smygehamn in the south, will be connected online to a nationwide network. The agreement with Svenska Spel also covers approximately 3,200 representatives for the Lotto lottery which sell Triss and similar scratch tickets. These point-of-sale locations, operating all over Sweden, will be connected by modem to Svenska Spel. The entire agreement runs until 2010 and is expected to be worth approximately SEK 200 million. "This agreement will give Svenska Spel a future-proof IP network that will effectively support the comapny's goal to develop its gaming business constantly," says Anders Gylder," head of the Large Corporate Customers Segment at TeliaSonera Sweden.
