TeliaSonera wins contracts worth SEK 2 billion During the month of June TeliaSonera sold communication solutions to large corporate customers and public authorities in Sweden that had a combined value of more than SEK 2.0 billion. Broadband-based communications systems and mobile workplaces are being increasingly needed today in large organisations - this is a trend that is becoming more and more apparent. Only four of the agreements in June had an order value of more than SEK 100 million, indicating a high volume of business with large corporate customers. In addition, most of the agreements also run over a period of several years, which means that the total value of the contracts cannot be included in TeliaSonera´s financial results for 2003. "I can´t be anything but satisfied with the trend of business. We are well on our way to winning back the market shares we lost before in this segment. Customers who have tried out other suppliers are coming back to us," says Anders Gylder, head of TeliaSonera´s Large Corporate Customers business segment. "The major operators from outside the Scandinavian countries have realised that it is difficult to establish business with customers in the Nordic region. Apparently it demands too many big sacrifices in order to compete with the quality and price of our communication services," adds Anders Gylder, who hopes the positive trend of business will continue during the second half of the year. This hope is based on a growing need for having your office in your pocket - to have access to work-related data and documents anywhere. "This can be realised when you make it easier for employees to connect their desktop computers, laptops and PDAs to the Web, corporate intranet and enterprise system through broadband access," ends Anders Gylder.
