The TeliaSonera International Youth Council will meet in Copenhagen on June 9 for its first meeting of 2006. The young people will, for example, test MSN® Messenger on the mobile – a service to be soon launched by TeliaSonera and Microsoft on the mobile Internet portal SurfPort. The meeting will be chaired by Anders Igel, President and CEO of TeliaSonera.

The Youth Council has previously discussed mobile services, in particular, and many of the young members have expressed their wish to be able to chat on the mobile phone. Now their hopes are about to materialize. Together with Microsoft, TeliaSonera will soon launch MSN® Messenger on the mobile portal SurfPort. The young people’s opinions will be taken into account in the further development of the service. The Youth Council has also previously had a strong input in TeliaSonera’s service development. - The young people’s ideas on mobile content and positioning services, for example, have been very useful in the development and launch of our mobile Internet portal, SurfPort, says TeliaSonera’s President and CEO Anders Igel. The TeliaSonera International Youth Council was established in April 2004 in order to increase young people’s influence on TeliaSonera’s existing and future services. - The Youth Council is one of several ongoing activities at TeliaSonera aiming to guide us in our work to develop services that young customers really want. This is part of our strategic focus to involve customers early on in the service development process and thereby to develop services that are easy to understand, easy to buy and easy to use, Anders Igel continues. The TeliaSonera International Youth Council comprises both young TeliaSonera employees and young customers from some of the countries where TeliaSonera is a major player. The young customers are members of the Council for about a year. The Youth Council meets twice a year to discuss TeliaSonera’s services and customer care as well as to share ideas and thoughts about new services and customer care. The TeliaSonera International Youth Council is chaired by Anders Igel, President and CEO, and Terje Christoffersen, Group Vice President and head of the corporate-level unit Marketing, Products and Services.
