“Top ten” in mobile phone sales at Telia’s stores in February

Of the ten mobile phones on the February “top ten” list, eight are preconfigured for Telia’s “TeliaGo” mobile portal. One of the portal’s features during the past few weeks has been a special page for the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest (Melodifestivalen), where subscribers can watch video clips, read the latest news about the progress of the competition and download ring tones. “We are seeing how people are becoming more and more interested in this type of service,” says Indra Åsander, head of the Consumer Segment at TeliaSonera Sweden. “Our co-operation with the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest has been appreciated and the portal has certainly made many realize that the mobile phone is good for other things than just talking.” Telia, with 76 stores, is the largest retail chain in Sweden for telecom products and one of Sweden’s biggest resellers of mobile phones.
