Oracle and Telia establish a new company for mobile Internet services Oracle Corporation and Telia are to form a new company that will offer mobile Internet services in the international marketplace. The company, to be based in Sweden, will focus on further developing the unique competence that Telia and Oracle has built through their previous joint-venture projects within the areas of wireless services and in the development of the product Oracle Portal-to-Go. The company, not yet named, will deliver products and services in the global market that are based on Oracle's Portal-to-Go which is a platform independent web solution that allows Internet content to be offered on virtually any kind of terminal. The demand for applications which use this technology is expected to be considerable in the international marketplace in the future as new WAP telephones, cellular phones and handhelds become the most common devices used to access internet. "Sweden is a prime example of how a country can take a leading position within the field of IT by offering cutting-edge mobile Internet solutions to the international marketplace.
