Stig-Arne Larsson appointed new President of Telia

Stig-Arne Larsson appointed new President of Telia Telia has held an Extraordinary General Meeting in Stockholm. During the meeting, Jan-Åke Kark was elected to the Board of Directors after Jan Stenberg declined re-election. At the following meeting of the Board of Directors, Jan-Åke Kark, previously President and CEO of Telia, was appointed Telia's new Chairman, succeeding Jan Stenberg. Jan-Åke Kark was also appointed Chief Corporate Advisor for Telia and will divide his time between this assignment and his position as Chairman of the merged Telenor-Telia Group. He will retain his salary benefits in Telia, amounting to SEK 5 million per year, which will be adjusted to SEK 5.4 million as of January 1, 2000. No bonus will be paid. At the board meeting, Stig-Arne Larsson was appointed new President of Telia. Larsson's annual salary will be SEK 3.6 million plus a bonus of up to 35 percent. Stig-Arne Larsson was previously Telia's Deputy CEO and CFO. In addition, Marianne Nivert was appointed Deputy CEO of Telia. Marianne Nivert was formerly Executive Vice President and head of Telia's Network Services business area. The intention is to have Stig-Arne Larsson appointed as First Executive Vice President of the merged Telenor/Telia Group, and to have Marianne Nivert appointed Second Executive Vice President of the new company.
