Telia and Cisco in strategic relationship Telia International Carrier and Cisco Systems Inc. have agreed on a strategic relationship regarding mutual exchange of competence, purchase of equipment from Cisco and promotion, through Telias Cisco Powered Network designation, of Telia International Carriers IP-services. The agreement is initially one year based and has immediate validity. The agreement covers the European and US operations of both companies. Cisco will the coming year promote Telia International Carriers IP-VPN- and capacity services to a value of 13 MUSD and Telia will buy access routers and similar equipment from Cisco. Prior to this agreement, Cisco has signed a similar deal with only one other client, an American operator. - Cisco has an outstanding market- and sales organisation which will now actively promote our IP-services. We are very happy that Cisco, after searching for a successful operator that is also leader in the field of IT products and services, has chosen Telia International Carrier as a partner. The partnership between Telia International Carrier and Cisco is of great strategic importance as it further strengthens our offensive initiatives in the field of Internet and IP services, says Lars Rydin, President Telia International Carrier.
