Telia awarded GSM 900 licence in Denmark Telia was today awarded one of the two new GSM 900 licences in Denmark. This further strengthens Telia´s position as the leading mobile operator in Nordic countries. The award of the new GSM 900 licence now enables Telia to build a mobile network with full national coverage in 2002 to the advantages of both private and corporate customers in Denmark. "The GSM 900 licence in Denmark is an important contribution to Telia´s strategy to be the leading mobile operator in the Nordic countries," says Kenneth Karlberg, Senior Executive Vice President, Telia AB and CEO, Telia Mobile AB. "Telia will be the only operator with full national GSM coverage in 2002 in Sweden, Denmark and Norway. This is an excellent platform to continue the development towards 3G." With the new GSM 900 licence and the existing GSM 1800 licence Telia is now able to offer national mobile services in Denmark independent of national roaming. "The new licence is an important milestone in our efforts to offer our customers the best possible services", says Poul Erik Olsen, Head of Telia Mobile Denmark.
