Telia's acquisition of Netcom approved in Norway Telia's acquisition of 55.38 percent of the Norwegian mobile operator Netcom ASA has been approved by the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry. With this approval, Telia is now free to pursue the acquisition of the majority stake in Netcom. On June 23, Telia announced that it had acquired more than 50 percent of Netcom's shares. Telia has also made an offer, valid until August 15, to purchase the remaining shares outstanding in Netcom, which are mostly held by the Danish operator Tele Danmark.
