Telia starts new Swedish company for broadband services Telia is starting a new company that will offer a wide range of broadband services to the residential market in Sweden. Karin Moberg has been appointed president of the new company. Karin Moberg comes from Telia InfoMedia Respons, a Telia subsidiary providing directory inquiry and information services. Telia aims to become the leading supplier of broadband services to Swedish households. To accomplish this goal, Telia is now forming a company within its People Solutions business area. The new company's primary mission will be to develop and sell broadband access and broadband services. Karin Moberg, today Vice President and Marketing Director at Telia InfoMedia Respons, will be President of the new broadband company. Karin Moberg is 36 and holds an M.B.A. degree. She has been employed by Telia for six years. Among other management positions she has been Vice President of Sales for Telia Business Solutions, which provides Telia's full range of products and services to corporations and businesses. "We're well equipped to take up the fight for broadband customers in Sweden," says Jan Rudberg, Executive Vice President of Telia's People Solutions Business Area. "Broadband access is now being rolled out in earnest in Sweden and the market is eagerly looking for content. Our new broadband services company, under Karin Moberg's leadership, will speed up the launch of many useful, fun and exciting broadband services, such as computer games, educational programs and home entertainment." Telia has set very ambitious goals for its broadband investment and is currently focusing intensively on selling group connections to real estate management companies and tenants' associations.
