Connex Romania order capacity upgrade for Mobile VPN In connection with its interim report Teligent today announced an upgrade order with an estimated value of over $1million from Connex, the Romanian operator and member of the Vodafone group. The order will double the traffic capacity to meet the demands of the successful Mobile VPN* service. The Teligent Mobile VPN solution that Connex is promoting to Romanian companies has been in service for approximately one year. The service has gained a strong growth and increased traffic volume due to a successful service launch by Connex. - We are of course extremely pleased to receive upgrade orders as a result of our customers' successes. This is the second upgrade order from Connex and as such it proves our business logic based on capacity and functional license upgrades to the installed base, says Ulf Lindstén, CEO & President of Teligent. The capacity for the order was delivered in the third quarter of 2003. * By using Mobile VPN (Virtual Private Network) voice calls and other communication, such as SMS and similar services, can be managed as if they were carried over private networks and exchanges, despite the fact that the traffic is routed through a public network, e.g. the Romanian GSM network. Operators offer this service to companies and organisations that can increase their availability and to manage and make their telecommunications more efficient through features such as differentiated call rates, short numbers and allocation of different levels of authorisation.
