Success story yields upgrade sales Connex orders capacity upgrade and dual site Teligent announces an upgrade delivery to the leading Romanian mobile operator Connex and their Teligent Mobile VPN solution that has been in use for approximately two years. The Romanian operator has placed new orders regarding additional traffic capacity needed for the customer growth as well as a so-called dual site of the successful installation. The dual site upgrade is to add and establish geographical redundancy. - The Mobile VPN service has become an important part of Connex Integrated Services Solutions offering towards the highly interesting enterprise market. We have had constantly growing numbers of customers added to the service and this growth, together with the importance of this service, has also encouraged us to add a dual site redundancy in order to guarantee the service level independently of potential "force major" situations, says Vishant Vora, Vice President and CTO of Connex. - This proves how successful a mobile IN-based VPN solution can be, generating more and more traffic from the corporate segment. It is of course a pleasure to receive upgrade orders as a result of our customers' success stories, says Ulf Lindstén, President & CEO of Teligent. By using the Mobile VPN, all types of calls are managed as if they where carried over private networks, even though the traffic is routed through the public network. Connex offers this service primarily to the Romanian enterprise market in order to provide corporate mobility with increased cost control and efficiency on the basis of e.g. internal short numbers, allocation of different levels of authorisation, differentiated call rates and real-time statistics. The system from Teligent also includes service creation tools, such as the Teligent Application Builder, which Connex has been using in order to develop new and enhanced services and features related to the Mobile VPN offering. The Romanian Mobile VPN solution is deployed using the Teligent P90/E middleware platform. This platform is used by a large number of leading carriers in the international telecommunications market, including BT, Telefónica, Telia, Tele 2, Verizon and members of the Vodafone group.
