Tekelec to utilize Teligent's middleware and applications Teligent (Stockholmsbörsens O-list) today announced the establishment of a distribution agreement with Tekelec (Nasdaq: TKLC), a leading developer of telecommunication products for next-generation fixed, mobile, and packet networks. Under the terms of the agreement, Tekelec will offer the Teligent P90/E middleware and services on its new TekServer(TM) application server. General availability of the first suite of applications is scheduled for the third quarter of this year. The TekServer application server is fully integrated with Tekelec's EAGLE® 5 Signaling Application System (SAS), providing the ability to implement and direct network applications directly from the signal transfer point (STP) platform. The EAGLE 5 system handles all of the signaling and routing within the core network and is in an ideal position to offload SMS traffic and deliver value-added applications and services.
