Teligent re-launches Collect Call for mobile telephones Swedish mobile portal Halebop is the first to market Teligent continues to strengthen its offering to operators of mobile pre- paid. Today Teligent presents a new solution that provides mobile operators with the possibility of increasing traffic revenues from existing customers. With the Teligent 3GSM Collect Call solution mobile telephony customers can call with a mobile pre-paid subscription even if the card has run out of credit. The mobile portal Halebop is the first mobile service provider in Sweden to offer this service. Teligent received an order for the delivery of 3GSM Collect Call to Halebop during the autumn and the launch of this service is currently underway. The total value of the order is confidential, but the order is of strategic importance from Teligent's perspective. For many years now callers have been able to make collect calls via the fixed telephony network. With the launch of 3GSM Collect Call this service can now also be offered to mobile pre-paid customers. The solution is based on the Teligent P90/E platform, which, with its open architecture and built-in flexibility, facilitates integration with existing mobile and fixed telecom networks and IP networks. - This is a good method for operators to increase their revenues by utilising their networks for traffic that they would otherwise lose, says Ulf Lindstén, President and CEO of Teligent. The operators can offer their mobile pre-paid customers the possibility of always being able to make a call, even when the card is empty and they can, in addition, charge for this service. Solutions, such as this make it easy for the operators to generate further revenue and it is a natural development of the pre-paid segment. On a practical level, the Teligent solution functions by allowing the user to key in a short number that connects them to a voice menu that allow the individual to record his name. The recipient of the call can choose whether to accept or reject it, by pressing 1 for "yes" or 2 for "no". Furthermore, it is possible for the recipient to pre-select telephone numbers that are always accepted. This is practical for a number of reasons; for example, parents that have children who need call them from mobile telephones and wish to reverse the call charge and in a commercial context in which a company does not want its customers to have to pay for calls to them. - We actually had mobile collect calls as part of our offering five to six years ago, but the market for mobile pre-paid was not sufficiently developed at that time. Now both Teligent and Halebop deem that the market is mature enough for this type of service, concludes Mr. Lindstén.
