On April 1, 2021, S&P Global Ratings (S&P) affirmed its long-term credit rating “BB” for Teollisuuden Voima Oyj (TVO) and changed the outlook from negative to positive.

According to S&P, the completion of fuel loading at the Olkiluoto 3 plant unit (OL3) is a significant sign of progress on the project, as it increases the likelihood that OL3 will be connected to the grid and start producing electricity in October this year, with regular electricity production to start in the first quarter of 2022.

Teollisuuden Voima Oyj has produced electricity for its shareholders, Finnish industrial and energy companies, safely and reliably for over 40 years. Nuclear electricity generated at TVO's Olkiluoto plant covers approximately one sixth, increasing to nearly one third once Olkiluoto 3 is completed, of the electricity consumption in Finland. Climate-friendly nuclear electricity not only benefits society but also reduces the environmental impact of energy production. Moreover, the world's first final disposal facility for spent nuclear fuel is under construction in Olkiluoto.
