Terveystalo expands its child welfare services by acquiring special-level rehabilitation service provider Nuorten Sutela
Terveystalo strengthens its expertise in child welfare services by acquiring the operations of Keltaisen Kartanon Kuntoutus Oy (auxiliary business name Nuorten Sutela) under an agreement signed on 31 March 2021. Nuorten Sutela focuses on special-level institutional care services for young people, and currently operates in two units in Southern Savonia near Mikkeli.
Keltainen Kartanon Kuntoutus Oy, Nuorten Sutela has worked as an expert in youth substance abuse rehabilitation for over 15 years. The company employs a total of more than 20 people part-time and full-time. The company's revenue in 2020 was approximately EUR 2 million. Nuorten Sutela's special expertise is within personalized and educational substance abuse rehabilitation, supported by holistic and multidisciplinary activities together with young people.
- We are happy to welcome Nuorten Sutela to Terveystalo. The company has a strong track record within demanding rehabilitation services for young people and they are pioneers in developing rehabilitation models in the field. We share a common vision of supporting the well-being and inclusion of young people through individual-based rehabilitation services, says Mikko Tainio, Terveystalo's Director of Public Services.
- We see a clear need for demanding, multi-professional child welfare services and we want to offer these services even more broadly in the future. Terveystalo already has strong expertise for example in substance abuse treatment, as well as in therapy and rehabilitation services, which enable the provision of diverse services nationwide, Tainio continues.
- Nuorten Sutela and Terveystalo have a very similar set of values, where the child is genuinely acknowledged, and a good life is made possible. It is great for us to be able to continue our activities together with Terveystalo's professionals, says Elina Paasio, CEO of Nuorten Sutela.
- In child welfare services, the young person and his or her ability to influence one’s own life is in the center. The aim is to help the young people with substance abuse to strengthen their sense of relevance in life, support them in becoming independent and, for example, increase the common understanding between the young person and their family. This is precisely the work that has been done very well in Nuorten Sutela, says Tarmo Pekola, Regional Director for Child Welfare Services at Terveystalo Public Services.
All the employees of the company transfer to Terveystalo as old employees. Terveystalo's public services has already been providing child welfare services in ten municipalities in Finland.
