Kinky Friedman Announces His New Tequila, “Man In Black”
~ Available in Texas on February 1 ~
El Paso, Texas – January 25, 2012 Who else but The Governor of the Heart of Texas, our generation’s Will Rogers, would bring a tequila to market honoring the likes of Paladin, Zorro and Johnny Cash? The singer-songwriter, author and cigar maven favors a black Resistol and matching preacher’s coat over more colorful garb, and has always identified with historical figures and fellow musicians who chose to cloak themselves in the dark attire of mystery.
As for the tequila: Man In Black tequila will be available in Texas beginning February 1. The Tequila is a top shelf premium line including Plata, Reposado, Añejo, and a six-year-old Extra Añejo Friedman calls “Tequila Noir” for the dark caramel color only charred French Oak Barrels can create. Friedman has sourced the best traditionally distilled tequila made from only mature Highland grown Weber Blue Agave in Tepatitlán, Jalisco Mexico by the makers of Mexico’s best-selling brands. Visit the website at www.ManInBlackTequila.com for additional information.
According to Friedman, “This is not New Age Mexican Mouthwash like some of the stuff that has reached the market over the past 20 years or so. It is not smoothed out by multiple filtering and tailored to what some marketing guys think Americans want. It’s the real deal and naturally smooth because we start with mature agave.”
A portion of the profits from Man In Black Tequila will benefit the Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch, a no-kill facility in Central Texas that finds homes for the canine homeless and downtrodden. Visit their website at www.utopiarescue.com.
Interview & Photo Opportunities – Press conference on Friday, January 27, at 2:00 p.m. at Mi Tierra Café & Bakery, 218 Produce Rd., San Antonio, Texas featuring Kinky. Friedman will be available for interviews following the press conference.
