Following the recent acquisition of publicly traded GreenTech company Swedish Stirling AB's entire assets, TEXEL Energy Storage has now recruited Swedish Stirling's former CTO, Christian Nilsson, as TEXEL's new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). TEXEL Energy Storage, which develops large-scale "Long Duration" energy storage based on hydrogen and the world's most advanced Stirling engine, is strengthening its position in GreenTech and energy storage by integrating additional expertise from Swedish Stirling that Christian Nilsson possesses.

TEXEL, through its wholly owned subsidiary TEXEL Technologies AB, acquired all technology assets of Swedish Stirling earlier this year. Now, Christian Nilsson, former CTO of Swedish Stirling, is appointed as the company's new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Lars Jacobsson, CEO and founder of TEXEL, and an expert advisor for the European Energy Commission's "REPowerEU" initiative, states: "With the recruitment of Christian Nilsson following our acquisition of Swedish Stirling, we are now strengthening our technical expertise and see new opportunities to expand into new adjacent technology segments."

In collaboration with international laboratories such as the US Department of Energy and Savannah River National Laboratory, Curtin University in Australia, and many others, TEXEL is developing an energy storage technology that not only challenges traditional lithium-based energy storage solutions for +6 hours but also provides a foundation for replacing fossil fuels. The company aims to create a sustainable future through innovative solutions in environmental technology and the energy sector.

- To store energy as heat is extremely more cost-effective compared to, for example, lithium batteries, and perhaps more importantly, our technology is circular and does not consume our planet's resources. Circular technologies are the key to a sustainable future and to avoid further wars over the Earth's resources, this has become a matter of national and international security, says Lars Jacobsson.

Christian Nilsson's extensive experience, from being the CTO of Swedish Stirling to 16 years within the Volvo Group, aligns with TEXEL's ambitions to gather the world's best expertise to drive innovation in GreenTech. "TEXEL has, for many years, been dedicated to developing the most advanced technology and today has all the prerequisites to become a globally leading player in the development of innovative energy solutions, as well as in sustainable energy storage and environmental technology," concludes Christian Nilsson

About TEXEL Energy Storage

TEXEL Energy Storage AB is a Swedish technology company that focuses on large-scale energy storage and energy technology, with a significant portion of its operations aimed at the American market. TEXEL signed an exclusive agreement with the US Department of Energy and one of their national laboratories, the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL), several years ago for a new hydrogen-based energy storage technology. SRNL is the laboratory behind the development of the hydrogen bomb in the 1950s, which has since made the laboratory a world-leading institution in hydrogen technology.
