In 2005, Jan Becker-Fochler needed authors with knowledge about SEO for a number of his own projects. Because of this, he had a first version of the Textbroker software developed. Within a short time, thousands of authors, who wanted to earn money by writing, expressed their interest in joining.
In 2007, the Textbroker platform was opened up to clients, and the very first online content marketplace of its kind was born. Since then, authors have been delivering editorial and professional SEO content as per clients’ requirements.
Due to great success in Germany, it was not long until Textbroker expanded to the US. In 2008, the US platform, textbroker.com, was established.
In 2010, ViewPoint Capital Partners became the first external investor to provide growth capital to Textbroker, which led to further international expansion. In 2011, the UK and French Textbroker platforms launched. In 2012, Textbroker Spain, Textbroker Netherlands, Textbroker Italy and Textbroker Brazil followed. In 2013, Portugal and Poland were launched. Since that time, Textbroker has been able to offer content written by native speakers in 10 languages.
To better meet the need for high-quality content, Textbroker began offering Managed Service in 2012. Using this service, clients can outsource their entire content projects to a dedicated team of experts at Textbroker.
