Georgia Tech Research Institute Selects AAI Test & Training’s A2PATS Single-Cabinet Electronic Warfare Simulator

HUNT VALLEY, Md. — October 25, 2013 — AAI Test & Training, an operating unit of Textron Systems, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announced today that the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) has purchased the company’s Advanced Architecture Phase Amplitude and Time Simulator (A2PATS) Single-Cabinet System for delivery to GTRI in Atlanta.

Supporting GTRI’s end-to-end approach to electronic warfare (EW) and electronic systems development, AAI Test & Training’s A2PATS is a plug-and-play, continuously aligned simulator that enables aircraft EW systems to precisely locate, identify and defend against virtually all ground-based and surface-to-air missile threats. AAI Test & Training also enhanced the system recently with a threat file translator, allowing customers to quickly and reliably automate the transfer of their threat file libraries from legacy systems to the A2PATS.

“This is the same architecture we are providing so successfully to Department of Defense EW centers of excellence for customers such as the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy,” says AAI Test and Training Senior Vice President and General Manager Steve Mensh of AAI Test & Training. “The A2PATS Single-Cabinet System scales and configures this robust architecture within a more streamlined footprint and at a more affordable price point, while continuing to offer expandability for future requirements. It puts the power of our A2PATS technology into every stage of the EW solution development chain, from the services themselves to critical research organizations like GTRI.”
