Next Generation Joint Services Electronic Combat Systems Tester (JSECST) Introduced by AAI Test & Training
Easy-to-Install Upgrade Kit Provides “Forward/Backward” Compatibility to Proven System
HUNT VALLEY, Md. — OCTOBER 25, 2013 — AAI Test & Training, an operating unit of Textron Systems, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announced today the next generation of its proven Joint Services Electronic Combat Systems Tester (JSECST) end-to-end system. JSECST is being exhibited starting October 28 at Booth 307 during the 50th Annual AOC International Symposium and Convention in Washington, D.C.
The JSECST quickly and accurately tests and isolates faults in electronic combat and avionics systems in today’s advanced combat aircraft. The new 670A upgrade kit adds digital radio frequency memory and test capability, as well as extends system compatibility to future platforms and applications.
“Designated the AN/USM-670A Electronic Systems Test Set by the U.S. government, the JSECST 670A upgrade resets the life-cycle clock on one of the most successful end-to-end military test systems of the modern age,” says AAI Test & Training Senior Vice President and General Manager Steve Mensh. “With a simple upgrade kit that can be customer-installed in just hours, our JSECST 670A is compatible with legacy, current and future platforms for years to come. It is an affordable and value-added upgrade path.”
AAI Test & Training and the U.S. Air Force will continue to implement the JSECST USM-670A upgrade program over the next several months, with system regression testing scheduled for early 2014.
The JSECST system is utilized for more than a dozen aviation platforms by every branch of the U.S. military, as well as numerous international customers including Canada, Australia, Kuwait and the Netherlands.
