Butler took 32% of the votes while Russell Brand was voted worst-groomed UK celebrity

Scottish actor Gerard Butler is celebrating this morning after being named the UK’s best groomed celebrity male.

The fiery Scot, famous for his roles in
300, PS, I Love You and Gamer, picked up 32% of the public vote in a survey organised by luxury British men’s grooming brand The Bluebeards Revenge.

Take That star and X Factor judge Gary Barlow took second spot in the best groomed stakes with 17%, followed by footballer and global superstar David Beckham on 8%.

British Prime Minister David Cameron put his party’s low poll ratings behind him to come fourth on 8%, with James Bond actor Daniel Craig fifth on 6%.

At the other end of the groomed scale, comedian Russell Brand took the title for the worst groomed UK celebrity. He polled a whopping 25% of public votes.

Scottish tennis star Andy Murray, who can regularly be seen sporting some poorly kept facial fuzz on and off the court, finished in second place on 15%.

Yorkshire actor Sean Bean, Manchester United footballers Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs and Scottish comedian Billy Connelly all made the ‘scruffy’ top 10.

Nick Gibbens, spokesperson for The Bluebeards Revenge, said: “Scotland has long been famous for producing some of the world’s most masculine and stylish men so it comes as no surprise to us that another Scot has topped our list.

“Gerard shows that you can be considered well groomed and stylish but at the same time, ruggedly handsome and very masculine. He’s an alpha male who likes to look his best at all times. These are also the core values of The Bluebeards Revenge.”

Britain’s Best Groomed Man
The Bluebeards Revenge has teamed up with men’s cancer charity Orchid to launch a nationwide search to find ‘Britain’s Best Groomed Man’, with the winner securing a lucrative one-year modelling contract and a year’s supply of shaving products.

“We would love to find the everyday Gerard Butler and make them an overnight sensation. We want to promote good grooming and need the help of Britain’s Best Groomed Man to achieve this. Regular grooming not only makes you look and feel more confident, it gives you an opportunity to take an active interest in your physical wellbeing. The bathroom is the prime place for men to check for signs of male cancer. We want to promote regular grooming and men's health and this competition will allow us to achieve this."

“As the face of The Bluebeards Revenge, you will be thrusted into the media spotlight. You will take part in a stylish photo shoot and then see your face across national newspapers, lifestyle magazines, websites, commercials and the marketing material.”
