BOSTON – Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has appointed Latino Legacy Fund Advisory Committee Member Juan Carlos Morales to the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency, making Morales the fourth such appointment of a Latino Legacy Fund advisor. Morales, Co-Founder of the Latino Legacy Fund and Global Chief Financial Officer for TIAA-CREF, is joined in service on state governance boards by Aixa Beauchamp, Co-Founder of the Latino Legacy Fund and President of Beauchamp & Associates, Rene Jarquin, Sr., Fund Committee Member and Portfolio Manager for BNY Mellon Wealth Management, and Fund Committee Member Carolina Avellaneda, General Counsel and Vice President of Operations for Fisher College. Beauchamp serves on the Massachusetts Workforce Development Board, Jarquin on the Board of Directors of MassVentures, the Commonwealth’s quasi-public innovation economy-focused venture capital firm, and Avellaneda on the Board of Directors of MassHousing. The Latino Legacy Fund, a unique partnership of local Latino philanthropists and leaders, The Boston Foundation and Hispanics in Philanthropy, is the first Latino-focused fund in the Greater Boston area.  Our mission is to create and maintain a permanent endowment to strengthen the diverse Latino community of Greater Boston and contribute to the region’s civic vitality by supporting issues and organizations that advance the socio-economic status of Latinos—while enhancing the leadership capacity of the entire Latino community.
