BHS Scotland’s Diamond Jubilee Ride and Family Fun Day

Horse riders are invited to celebrate HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee by taking part in a ride organised by The British Horse Society in the Scottish Borders while at the same time raising funds to improve the lives of horses.

BHS Scotland is hosting a unique opportunity for 60 riders to enjoy a superb day’s riding at Bowhill, the beautiful Scottish home of the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensberry to help celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of HM The Queen, the Society’s patron.

The ride takes place on Sunday 10 June and offers routes of either 14, seven or two miles taking in the splendour of Bowhill’s drive and the ancient and historic Minch Moor, passing close to the Cheese Well where an offering of cheese allows travellers to pass unmolested thanks to the protection of the fairies!

Bowhill House will be open for the day along with their wonderful adventure playground, walks and fishing to keep the rest of the family happy.

Every penny raised on the day will be used to support the work of the charity in Scotland as it pursues its access, safety, welfare and training aims to improve the lives of Scotland’s horses.

BHS Scotland Chairman, Loraine Young, said: “This is going to be great day offering many rewards to those who take part. The routes are exquisite and offer rewarding riding and great views, there with be prizes galore with rosettes and goody bags to all finishers and, of course, the warm feeling for participants of raising money to support the BHS which does so much for Scotland’s horses.”
