Recent elections to the Board of The British Horse Society, the results of which were announced yesterday, saw Carole Broad FBHS (previously co-opted as Vice Chair) and Donald Kear BHSI elected to the Board.  Sarah Bucks and David Kerry were re-elected to serve a further term of three years.

Donald is a rider and assessor whose life is centred around horses and their welfare and he is keen to help the Society in its key areas of welfare, access and education. He said: “BHS members benefit from an organisation that works in areas that other organisations don’t, providing for those whose main recreation is horses and their needs, especially in these times of ever-increasing costs. My primary aim is that the BHS continues to lead in all matters equestrian.”

Christine Blackford FCMA was co-opted as Treasurer to replace Ian Maclellan FCCA, who recently stood down.
