The British Horse Society and the British Equestrian Federation have announced Budleigh Salterton Riding School as the latest centre to achieve Clubmark accreditation.

Chrissy Howick, proprietor of Budleigh Salterton Riding School, said: “The staff, pupils and helpers here are very happy to achieve club mark status and have all worked hard towards it. Besides highlighting the standard our club has achieved we hope it will encourage more children, particularly from local schools and colleges, to take up riding at a safe and professional establishment.

“With the British Olympic teams to follow and support next year, and with local rider Mary King doing so well, plus all the Budleigh Salterton Riding School home-bred horses out competing again this season - members have an exciting time coming up and we are really enthusiastic about events happening in the future.

“We are also very grateful for the advice, support and help The British Horse Society have given us and our club members over the years.”

Margaret Linington-Payne Director of Standards for The British Horse Society and Clubmark Assessor said: “Budleigh Salterton produced an excellent Clubmark Portfolio, which was a joy to read. I hope the accreditation helps them to continue the excellent service they offer their young riders.”
