THE CABLE CENTER’S CABLE MAVERICKS LECTURE SERIES RECEIVES GENEROUS GRANT FROM THE MOTOROLA FOUNDATION FOR 2010 SEASON
DENVER – The Cable Center announced today that the Motorola Foundation has renewed its support of the Cable Mavericks Lecture Series with a $100,000 grant.
Now in its fifth year, The Cable Center’s Cable Mavericks Lecture Series brings college students across the nation together with outstanding cable professionals. The lecture series allows students to learn about the industry’s most inspiring business stories and gives them a glimpse into the career paths and day-to-day life of the cable executives. In 2009, the Cable Mavericks Lecture series presented cable industry leaders to 925 students on 11 campuses from Cambridge to Las Vegas.
“On behalf of The Cable Center and the board of directors, we are thrilled that the Motorola Foundation has continued its support of our Cable Mavericks Lecture Series,” said Larry Satkowiak, president and chief executive officer of The Cable Center. “Cable Mavericks is The Cable Center’s signature program, and our collaboration with Motorola allows us to continue to grow this program, both within the cable industry and on additional college campuses across the country.”
“The Motorola Foundation is honored to continue to support The Cable Center’s Cable Mavericks Lecture Series,” said Eileen Sweeney, director of the Motorola Foundation. “Cable Mavericks is a wonderful opportunity to bridge the industry and higher education, as well as to connect cable’s present with its future, and we are pleased to be a part of a program that brings such value to our industry.”
