COMPANY MARRIES EASE OF ONLINE INSURANCE SHOPPING WITH THE SERVICE OF A TRADITIONAL AGENT

Boston, Mass.; December 3, 2010 –  MassDrive Direct Auto Insurance, a hybrid auto insurance model that combines the multi-carrier approach of a traditional insurance agent with the direct model embraced by new insurance companies, is now available in Massachusetts.  The MassDrive site (www.massdrive.com) provides state car insurance customers with the first opportunity to compare and purchase policies through one direct remote insurance agency.

A 2010 comScore auto insurance report confirms the need for this approach, as consumers turn online for auto insurance quotes (38.8 million quotes were submitted online in 2009, a 21 percent increase from 2008), but 78 percent of consumers still purchase insurance offline, seeking the guidance of an agent.
