Cooperative of American Physicians, Inc. Mourns Loss of A. Peter Kezirian, Jr.
Los Angeles, CA, November 20, 2012—We are deeply saddened to announce that Peter Kezirian, Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Strategic Development, passed away suddenly yesterday. He was 48.
Peter joined CAP in 1998 and was instrumental in creating programs to serve physicians and promote patient safety. Peter’s brilliance, passion, and energy were the source of countless innovations both at CAP and beyond.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Peter earned his law degree from the University of Southern California and his bachelor’s degree at Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. His many contributions and accomplishments include serving as a German Marshall Plan Fellow, a member of the Pacific Council, an evaluator of NATO’s peacekeeping operations, General Counsel for the State of California’s Department of Corporations, and Presidential Campaign Counsel to California Governor Pete Wilson.
“Peter transformed ideas into reality,” says Chief Executive Officer James L. Weidner. “In doing so, he touched countless lives. We will always be indebted to Peter for his commitment and dedication to CAP. He was, and will continue to be, an inspiration to all of us.”
We extend our deepest condolences to Peter’s family -- his wife, Michelle, his mother, Marilyn, and his four brothers, Michael, Eric, Steve, and Doug.
