Farmingdale, NJ – October 13, 2009 - Applied LED technology specialist Dialight plc has had meetings with twelve major Japanese power utilities together with its distributor I-Spec during the 2009 NOA Conference in Nagoya, Japan on October 1 and 2. The NOA Conference is jointly organized by US Consulate Commercial Services and the power utility companies in Japan, this year with Chubu Electric Power Ltd as the co-organizer, and its objective is to introduce US companies offering compelling technology products to Japan’s power utilities. Japan has a challenging mandate to reduce its CO2 level by 60% by 2050 and the power utilities are putting in all possible effort to achieve this goal by implementing renewable energy, nuclear energy, increasing productivity and operational efficiency. Jason Loh, Dialight’s Director of Sales for Asia Pacific, commented: “We introduced the power utilities to our energy efficient LED lighting products and illustrated how they can be used in facilities all over Japan, helping them to achieve their goals in reducing CO2. Several of the companies expressed interest in procuring our products as soon as we obtain local certification for hazardous locations. This process is already underway and it’s our intention to have certification confirmed in the near future.” Yoshinori Sugiura, Managing Director of I-Spec said: “I am glad to be working alongside Dialight in introducing their energy efficient products to the Japan industry. Dialight products are designed, manufactured and certified to industry’s highest standards and I am confident that they will fit well in the industrial market that we are pursuing.”
