New pass launched to explore York's top three medieval attractions
With its two new medieval themed attractions due to open at Easter, the JORVIK Group has launched a new joint ticket for visitors wanting to save money whilst exploring York’s medieval heritage. The Medieval Pass will grant visitors a full year of visits to the new Richard III Experience at Monk Bar, the Henry VII Experience at Micklegate Bar and York’s hidden medieval gem, Barley Hall.
The pass will be available from 5 April, to co-incide with the opening of the two new attractions, which sit at two of the major gates into York. Visitors can walk along the city walls between the Monk Bar and Micklegate Bar, finding out about the influence the last Plantagenet and first Tudor kings had on the city, before heading down to Barley Hall, which was home of Lord Mayor of York William Snawsell, who welcomed both of the kings during their respective visits to York.
“These two new attractions, set within the historic Bars along the York city walls, will highlight just how important the city was to the kings and how these monarchs influenced the development of the city – a story which continues at Barley Hall, home to one of the most important men in the city across both reigns – and later Lord Mayor of York - William Snawsell,” explains Sarah Maltby, director of attractions for the JORVIK Group of Attractions. “Our new Medieval Pass will help visitors to explore the many different aspects of medieval and Tudor-age York at their leisure.”
The Medieval Pass costs £8.00 for adults, £6.00 for concessions and £4.50 for children. A family ticket is £22.75 (two adults and two children) or £23.75 (two adults and three children.
