Event to Outline Skills Needed to Lead at Every Level in an Increasingly Complex Church Environment

February 14, 2012, DALLAS – Bishop T.D. Jakes, senior pastor at The Potter’s House, will address the most pressing needs of today’s church by hosting his well-received International Pastors & Leadership Conference this May 3-5, 2012 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.  This intimate conference is aimed at Pastors and their wives, church executives and their administrative support staffs, and will present top-down strategies for balancing the business of church with the spiritual and practical needs of the congregation and community at large.

The International Pastors & Leadership Conference is a three-day event that features opening and closing sessions led by marquee caliber pastors, with specialized breakout sessions that address the infrastructure needs of the church from operational strategies to effective music ministries to specialized senior-pastors-only workshops and other forums that meet the holistic needs of churches of virtually any size.  The event also enables pastors the rare opportunity to network with one another.

This year’s theme, “The Mission is Not Impossible,” speaks to the daunting challenges facing most pastorates today.  Whether it is addressing a downturn in church revenues, moral failure among leaders, or succession planning; the main and breakout sessions are designed to buck up those pastors on the verge and to undergird those looking to take their organizations to the next level of development.

“Leadership is not just the exclusive domain of the senior pastor.  Rather, it is a responsibility shared among those who lay a solid foundation to ensure a structure’s upward stability and proper functioning at every level,” said Bishop T.D. Jakes. “A well honed infrastructure allows every joint to supply and frees the senior pastor to attend to the ‘Call’ and not feel as though that task were impossible to carry out.”

A FOUNDATION OF SUCCESS

Since 1995, leaders from around the world have attended Bishop T. D. Jakes’ International Pastors & Leadership conferences with the goal of becoming equipped with strategies to succeed in ministry over the long term.

Last year’s conference drew nearly 6,000 leaders from 25 different nations and continents including South Africa, South Korea and South America to learn from subject matter experts on important topics such as surviving the recession, overcoming a real estate collapse and what do to do when a crisis hits. The conference also brought approximately $6.5 million in economic impact to the metro-Orlando area through direct spending over the three-day period in 2011, according to the visitors’ bureau.
