Turtle Back Zoo Celebrates the Holidays with a Special Visitor

Elf on the Shelf making daily “appearances” December 1-24, 2013

(November 26, 2013 – West Orange, NJ): This holiday season, “Elf on the Shelf” – the seasonal toy figurine whose popularity has swept the nation – will be making daily “appearances” on the Turtle Back Zoo Facebook page. Each morning from December 1 through December 24, a photo of the Elf in a unique Turtle Back Zoo location – in an exhibit, on the grounds, with an animal – will appear on the Zoo’s Facebook page. Parents can tune in daily to share the fun photo with their children…and to get a reminder to move their own elf to a new location at home if they haven’t yet done so. 

The zookeepers are taking all of the photos, allowing the Elf access to some pretty special places throughout the Zoo. “Bringing the Elf on the Shelf into the Zoo is another special way for us to connect with our visitors through social media,” said Brint Spencer, Director, Turtle Back Zoo. “Many of our Facebook fans already have the Elf in their homes. Now we can share that tradition with them.”

The social media program is being handled by The S3 Agency in Boonton, NJ.
