Society for Urban Nature's Night to Shine
Green gala celebrates nature August 20, 2010 in downtown Chicago
CHICAGO – Society for Urban Nature (SUN), the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum's auxiliary board, hosts its third annual Helios Bash on August 20, 2010. The Helios Bash is SUN's largest fundraiser, with all proceeds going to support the Nature Museum, the urban gateway to nature and science.
SUN's event will shine as a great example of an eco-friendly bash, with every aspect planned with the Nature Museum's commitment to nature and the environment in mind. Vendors were selected for their creative and vibrant commitment to environmental responsibility. For instance, Chicago's Limelight Catering will provide local, sustainable cuisine; and Chicago-based florist Pollen will supply eco-friendly décor. Chicago's Goose Island will supply the beer. The evening includes an open bar with beer, wine and a signature cocktail. Toast & Jam DJs will spin the tunes to keep attendees dancing all night long.
Evening activities also include a silent auction and raffle. Visitors will be able to commemorate their night with free, fun and creative pictures at the Supernova Picture Corner. When the last couple is off the dance floor, a free trolley will be on-hand to whisk guests away to the after party.
