Chilean Wine Tourism Organization Partners With Chilean Tour Operator to Offer Customizable Romantic Getaway

NEW YORK, NY – February 23, 2011. When a couple begins to plan their honeymoon, preferences may vary between warm weather or cold, the beach or desert, the city or forest, but one thing remains the same—they are searching for that once-in-a-lifetime experience. To respond to that, Wines of Chile (WOC) Experience, the trade organization that promotes tourism in the wine-growing regions of Chile, has teamed up with Chilean tour operator, Enotour® Wine & Culinary Travel, to create a journey perfect for honeymooners or lovers of any kind.

An under-explored destination, Chile offers everything that the adventurous couple could want: a beautiful wine trail, first class restaurants, horseback riding, skiing in the summer, cooking classes with your own private chef, and luxurious spa treatments. In addition, couples can participate in a blending seminar creating a wine to savor long after the vacation is over, complete with customized labels to celebrate their joint creation.

“Chile’s summer falls during our winter, so it’s the perfect time for a warm-weather escape to one of the most diverse, progressive wine regions in the world,” says Lori Tieszen, Wines of Chile USA Executive Director. “We’re excited to work with Enotour to create a getaway that allows travelers to discover the premier wines of Chile while acquainting them with the jaw-dropping landscape and hospitality for which the country is known.”

For those who choose to travel in the months of June through September, outdoor enthusiasts will find skiing that rivals the best in the world. During the months of February through April, couples can participate in the many harvest activities available at each winery.

The base tour is six days, five nights, but can be customized to extend to any length of time and to include any activities on an adventurer’s must list. “We love the idea of showcasing Chile’s romantic side,” says Jorge Solis, President of Enotour. “And the idea that couples will be toasting their anniversary years from now with the wines they make in Chile just makes it special.”
