S C Skillman's paranormal thriller takes readers through a series of ghostly encounters

Based on real experiences, S C Skillman's A Passionate Spirit was inspired by paranomal behaviour she and her sister experiences while on holiday.

"Several years ago my sister and I were babysitting in a French villa when the whole place began to feel very haunted," explains S C Skillman. "I've never experienced anything like it, but there was definitely someone else there."

It was this haunting expeirence that inspired S C Skillman to write her debut novel, A Passionate Spirit. It tells the story of 25 year old Zoe, who moves to the Cotswold hills with her new husband, unconventional priest Theo. But fearsome dreams about a young girl running for her life disturb Zoe and she can’t shake off the idea that a child’s life is in danger... and so is hers.

As well as ghostly experiences, S C Skillman has also been inspired by esoteric and new age philosophies and eastern religions. “Other ideas were sparked off by the BBC TV drama Merlin; the character Morgana intrigues me and, to an extent, the character Natasha has elements of Morgana in her,” she adds.
