Formica Group is delighted to announce the launch of its stylish new Axiom® worktop range, inspired by European residential trends. As the kitchen develops into a much more social space, the fit-out of this space deserves closer attention.  Whether it is within a modern, open plan living space or a more traditional kitchen area, the materials that specifiers are choosing to use are increasingly important.

For any property developer or housebuilder’s show house or flat, the kitchen is a major focal point. Through good interior design, a whole variety of vintage, new country or stylish modern looks can be created, even in more constrained spaces or refurbished properties. The new Axiom® by Formica Group range has a complete choice of worktops and accessories – splashbacks and upstands, to help developers achieve a welcoming interior.

Classic looks can be produced with traditional stone and woodgrain designs or for a more contemporary twist worktops can be matched with a splash of bright colour using bold accessories. For an up-to-the-minute look, choosing a contrasting breakfast bar and worktop opens up a range of possibilities that can be carried through the design of the interior.

One of the most exciting additions to the range, Axiom® True Scale captures the beauty of natural materials without the repetition of pattern found in traditional laminates. Mirroring the characteristics of natural stones, woods and granites each individual worktop will show unique characteristics - just as in nature. Black Sequoia and Slate Sequoia from the True Scale range are finished in new Scovato texture for a natural earthy feel.

A lightly chiselled, yet smooth finish, Scovato, meaning 'to unearth or discover" gives the worktop a sense of dimension. Offered on five different decors, Scovato is presented on plain colours Diamond Black and White to show its full beauty. As well, exclusive to Axiom by Formica Group, Steel Materia with Scovato mimics a distressed metallic finish for that vintage look so sought after today.

Puregrain is another new texture addition to the range. This timeless, lightly brushed natural-look woodgrain texture fits perfectly in an idyllic country or classic kitchen setting. Available on four oak designs -Shadow Oak, Scarlet Oak, Swedish Oak and Sauvignon Oak; these textured woodgrain decors answer one of the most important trends on the market: rustic and simple.

Adding a lavish feel to the kitchen, High Gloss is available on a range of stone and wood designs. From the classic Everest and Jamocha Granite to the exciting new Paloma Black and Paloma White, and new True Scale introduction Black Storm, Gloss worktops and breakfast bars can create high end drama or a subtle sheen.

Emulating the look and feel of brushed matt stone, Honed is a highly tactile finish available on a choice of four decors. True Scale decors Breccia Marrone and Breccia Pacifica are available in this finish, along with classics Basalt Slate and Desert Sandstone.

With coordinating breakfast bars, splashbacks and upstands, popular finish Lustre brings an element of sparkle to your kitchen. Capturing the translucent effect of quartz particles that are usually found in natural stone, Lustre, available on four designs, answers the trend for a rustic yet sophisticated look.

Always popular, Etchings finish is available on seven granite decors within the range. With subtle surface detail highlighted by a soft polished sheen, it brings a classic look to the kitchen.

Adding a delicate shimmer to the kitchen, sophisticated texture Crystal is available on eight decors across the Axiom range, from dark granites to neutral abstracts.

Eggshell finish Matte 58 is available in brand new True Scale Wood decors Bark Microplank and Walnut Microplank. With no print repeat across the width of the worktop or breakfast bar; these decors are well suited for both island units and regular worktops. Also featured is Xenon, a classic stainless steel look for that high-tech kitchen. New Pattern Paloma, available in 5 different colourways, is a simple speckle with a translucent look that creates a sophisticated solution for the worktop.

The trend to mix and match does not stop at designs and textures, colours are important too. Create a whole new look in the kitchen by using a different decor on the breakfast bar to the worktop. Why not mix it up and follow the growing trend of feature splashbacks? While the latest Axiom range offers 24 matching splashbacks, there are also 9 complementary splashbacks in High-Gloss bright colours and metallic effects. Try pairing a bright lime Wasabi splashback with a neutral Walnut Microplank worktop to create a dream kitchen with a statement.

If a glass effect is desired, new additions Frosted Jade and Frosted Silver create a stunning feature when paired with a dark wood worktop. Use a High-Gloss splashback in Carnaval, Amarena or Chocolate to create a bold and on-trend design.

All decors available in the Axiom range are available with either Axis or Linea profile. Axis is a brand new 3mm radius profile which combines straight, clean edges with quality natural stone and wood decors to create really authentic looking work surfaces. Linea profile is a modern profile with a 6mm radius that emulates the shape of natural materials, enhancing the design and feel of the worktop.
