The ever successful Thule Adventure Team (TAT) is one of the world’s foremost teams in the growing adventure race sport. As the sport gains wider global appeal, TAT’s popularity is on the rise in China, where more than ten thousand spectators turned up for the opening ceremony of ‘Baise Outdoor Quest’ race in late April.

During the ‘Baise Outdoor Quest’ in Baise Leye, China, a film crew followed TAT’s preparations and victorious road to victory. In the documentary you get a real feel for how spectacular races in China can be. The nature and settings are beautiful but the people are also embracing the sport in a truly amazing way.

“I’m not surprised that adventure races are becoming increasingly popular around the globe”, says Tina Liselius, Sponsorship and Event Manager Thule Group. “As humans we are always attracted to and amazed by world class athletes’ extraordinary abilities to overcome everything that nature and the elements may throw at them.”

Baise Outdoor Quest took place April 26-28 in the Guangxi region in southern China. This part of China is known for very hot temperatures, humid climate, rivers, mountains and jungle. The race course has multiple climbs and descents, with 2000 m as highest altitude. Baise Outdoor Quest is a stage race for teams of 4 over 3 days with multiple sections: swimming, kayaking, MTB, stair running, cave running, adventure skills/rope activities and trail running.

In September TAT will return to China to compete in two other prestigious events – Wulong Mountain Quest and Taining Outdoor Challenge. Both races will be covered by a film crew and the films will be featured on Thule’s channel on Youtube later this year.
