ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring
BILSTEIN lights up the Green Hell with a bright Mercedes-AMG GT3 design – season’s highlight for the BILSTEIN Race Team by BLACK FALCON in a BMW M4 GT4
Early in June 2024, the motorsport world knows only one event: the legendary 24-hour race in the famous “Green Hell”. When the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring starts on 1 June, well over 100 racing cars will be competing for victory. Once again, numerous teams will be relying on BILSTEIN. In the SP9 class, the GT3 cars will compete in thrilling duels at the highest level. Eight BILSTEIN-equipped Mercedes-AMG GT3s have their sights set on overall victory. The BILSTEIN Race Team by BLACK FALCON will be fighting for the SP8-T class victory in a BMW M4 GT4. But many teams in the other classes also rely on BILSTEIN.
The 24-hour race at the Nürburgring is regarded as one of the world’s most extraordinary motorsport events. No race in the world is more difficult, none is as competitive and none has such a strong line-up as the legendary endurance classic on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife. Especially in the SP9, the “GT3 class”, a thrilling race for the overall victory in the Green Hell is expected. The BILSTEIN Mercedes-AMG team will be up against high-profile competition from Aston-Martin, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche.
The Mercedes-AMG GT3s from HRT, Mercedes-AMG Team BILSTEIN, Mercedes-AMG Team Getspeed and Schnitzelalm Racing, which will be competing on state-of-the-art racing shock absorbers from BILSTEIN, will be challenging the Porsche teams in particular. They have assumed the role as favourite after their dominant performances in the first four Nordschleife races completed so far as part of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) and the 24h Qualifiers.
The Mercedes-AMG GT3 with start number 4 is an absolute highlight. After the fascinating Mask Car, the iconic Palace Car, the timeless Heritage Design and the unforgettable Comic Car 2024, BILSTEIN is continuing the tradition of bringing a very special car to the start of the race in the Eifel this year. In 2024, they will light up the green hell with a luminous design!
For the first time in the history of the 24-hour race, the LumiLor paint technology will be used, which has enabled BILSTEIN and HRT to develop a vehicle with unique, electroluminescent lighting elements. The technology involves the precise and elaborate application of several layers of paint under black light. This luminous paint emits light in response to the application of an alternating voltage, creating the unmistakable LumiLor look. According to the guiding principle “Light the spark, leading the way ahead”, the design of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 combines innovation and elegance, reflecting BILSTEIN’s claim to be a premium brand with a clear vision for the future.
But that’s not all, there is another highlight. The BILSTEIN Race Team by BLACK FALCON with Manuel Metzger and motorsport influencers Jimmy Broadbent, Steve Alvarez Brown and Misha Charoudin will be competing in the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring in the SP8-T class. Starting with the RCN races and working their way up to the NLS, the four drivers are now about to fulfil their big dream of taking part in the legendary 24-hour race at the Nürburgring.
They swapped their G20 BMW 330i for a BMW M4 GT4 back in the winter. This means more aerodynamics and twice as much power as before. The special set-up of the racing car built by Black Falcon was tuned on the BILSTEIN 7-post rig in the Competence Centre directly at the Nürburgring. In addition to the optimum characteristics of the suspension, the first-class resources and outstanding expertise of the strong partners FALKEN tyres, RAVENOL and Pagid Racing provide the basis for maximum performance.
From the high-end motorsport technologies, the EVO RT with 5-way adjustment in the GT3 cars, to the EVO R in the BMW GT4, BILSTEIN is also prominently represented in other classes. For instance in the AT category: in this class, Max Kruse Racing, among others, proves that alternative fuels and thrilling motorsport are not mutually exclusive. The racing team led by the well-known footballer Max Kruse is once again relying on BILSTEIN shock absorbers in its VW Golf 7 GTI TCR. Tim Schrick will also be competing in his Subaru WRX equipped with BILSTEIN technology to support the Japanese Subaru works team. The Sorg Rennsport team is another long-standing BILSTEIN partner. The “Sorg Brothers” are once again relying on BILSTEIN in their BMW 330i racing cars. In addition, many other teams in the paddock rely on motorsport technology made by BILSTEIN – from the VT2 to the TCR class.
