Tieto manages Sollentuna’s IT for three more years

Tieto has signed an agreement with Sollentuna municipality in the Stockholm region, to continue supplying IT services for three more years. The agreement is worth approximately EUR 8,4 million.

In a time of intense change, it is of great value for Sollentuna municipality to have a stable partner like Tieto, says Claes Enzell, the municipality's IT manager.

Six years ago, Sollentuna outsourced its IT systems to Tieto to both reduce costs and develop services. At that time, outsourcing IT to greater extent was uncommon among Swedish municipalities and was done with caution.

- Sollentuna is an expansive and ambitious municipality. We are proud that they have chosen to continue working with us and see it as confirmation that our complete solution lives up to the municipality's needs and expectations for IT development, says Mats Brandt, Vice President, Industry Public Sweden.

In addition to server management, network management, service desk and other services, Tieto enables the continuous development of the municipality's IT environment. Among other things, Tieto helped Sollentuna become one of Sweden's first municipalities with virtual workplaces. Instead of being tied to a computer, municipal employees log on wherever they are, from any device.

- Sollentuna is at the forefront. This is something that many municipalities are interested in today, says Mats Brandt.

The new agreement is valid from March 2016 to February 2019.
