Tieto moves Oracle databases to the cloud - first in the Nordics
Tieto today announced the launch of a new private cloud solution for business critical database environments. The highly automated solution enables faster deployment of new environments and reduces related costs with up to 50 percent. Tieto is the first provider in the Nordics to offer Oracle databases as a cloud service.
Tieto Dynamic Landscape for databases offers a cost efficient and agile way to run Oracle databases – one of the most used enterprise database systems in the world. Through automation and standardization, organizations can significantly improve their performance and cost efficiency. Early customer cases have shown a reduction of up to 50 per cent in costs of managing Oracle-based database environments.

The new cloud-based database solution will enable our customers to reduce complexity and costs while improving their agility and speed in responding to rapidly changing business demands, says Hanna Leino, Product Manager in Tieto.
Tieto Dynamic Landscape for databases is operated as a managed service from Tieto´s secure data centers in the Nordic countries. Based on a scalable pay-as-you-use model, customers only pay for real consumption. The solution also cuts storage costs by using data compression, thus reducing capacity need by on average 30 percent. In addition, license costs can be reduced with up to 50 percent by using a flexible license management model where in general less licenses are needed.
The solution is an addition to Tieto's growing portfolio of digitalization and cloud services. Cloud business has been the fastest growing area in Tieto, and by 2020, around 80 percent of Managed Services is expected to derive from cloud. Tieto is the largest cloud service provider in the Nordic countries.
