Tieto once again recognized for efforts in gender equality
End of 2016, Tieto India was named among the 100 Best Companies for Women in India on ‘Working Mother and AVTAR 100 Best Companies for Women in India’ list. The study aims to identify best practices and policies followed by companies for increasing women's workforce participation. It was conducted amongst 350 biggest employers in the country and lists the top 100. Tieto has been established in India since 2005 and has around 2,400 employees in the country. Globally Tieto employees around 13,000 people.
A year earlier Tieto Sweden received the gender equality certification from EDGE as the first IT company in the world.

In addition to company’s internal efforts, Tieto also actively participates in related external initiatives and ecosystems. For example in Finland Tieto is contributing to The Federation of the Finnish Technology Industries’ Women in Tech network activities and is participating in the Finland 100 jubilee year by bringing together students, decision makers and business partners to discuss and ideate around changes in the working life and professions of the future.
