City of Tampere orders TietoEnator´s customer service system for social and healthcare services TietoEnator and the City of Tampere have signed an agreement under which TietoEnator will supply an Effica information system for the city's social and dental care services`customer service system. The city plans to spend approximately 10 MEUR by 2005 on upgrading its social and healthcare systems. The agreement with TietoEnator covers over 2 MEUR of this budget. The system will be introduced in stages with Individual and Family Care in autumn 2003, followed by Children Day Care and Dental Care in 2004. The TietoEnator system will cover social services including individual and family care, children day care, the Supervisor of issues concerning children's welfare and the management of alimony issues. In dental care the Effica software will support functions including appointments, reception, dental care planning and billing. An image archive can also be added in the solution allowing easy and seamless workflow to access and archiving of X-ray and digital images. "Our aim is to give our staff more time for customer contact as well as up-to-date information to support better customer service. We also wish to develop multi-skilled co-operation both internally and regionally. Effica is also set up to utilise the potential benefits of digital services and mobile technology," said Jorma Lehtisaari, Project Manager, City of Tampere.
