TIETOENATOR CORPORATION PRESS RELEASE 16 JUNE 2000 2.00 PM 1(1) In Sweden TietoEnator has been assigned to develop and modernize the National Prisons and Probation Authority's client-administrative system TietoEnator Technology AB in Sweden has been assigned to develop and modernize one of the National Prisons and Probation Authority's key systems, the KLAS client-administrative system. For TietoEnator, the order has a value in excess of SEK 10M. The system supports the administrative handling of information and matters regarding clients in all the country's custodies and institutions. KLAS is used by over 4000 people all over the country in over 80 geographical locations. The system is based on Ingres II as development environment and database platform. Successful co-operation - We have had good and successful development co-operation with TietoEnator Technology for several years and I am pleased that they also qualified in the formal procurement, says Lars Johansson, IT Manager at the National Prisons and Probation Administration. - The choice of Ingres II as the platform was preceded by a comprehensive examination of previous experiences, future development plans for Ingres as product family, product stability as well as financial factors, Lars Johansson concludes. TietoEnator Technology's assignment is the responsibility for project management and the main part of the development work. The project, which carried out in close co-operation, also includes personnel from the National Prisons and Probation Administration. The total number of project members is over 15. About KLAS KLAS handles all parts of the administrative routines and requirements for the treatment of offenders, from location bookings and administration to the transfer of internees between different institutions. KLAS simplifies and supports the exchange of information between custodies and institutions as well as between different institutions. KLAS constitutes one of the most fundamental and vital systems within the Swedish treatment of offenders.
