TIETOENATOR CORPORATION STOCK EXCHANGE BULLETIN 8 JUNE 2000 9.30 AM 1 (1) Stockholm saves millions and enhances the democracy with TietoEnator as IT partner The City of Stockholm and TietoEnator have signed an agreement concerning the outsourcing of computer operations and system administration. From the turn of the year, TietoEnator assumes the responsibility for the operation and administration of some 40 systems within the City's different operational areas. The order value is estimated to ca SEK 370M during an agreement period of just over five years. Improved service, participation in the operations, enhanced democratic influence. In brief: contact with the local authority from the home computer. This is what the people of Stockholm will have when the City changes its IT partner. Developing the digital community services is an important intention in the agreement between Stockholm and TietoEnator. - The people of Stockholm shall be able to conduct matters in the network and this places high demands on accessibility around the clock. By outsourcing these types of operations to a contractor we can focus on our core operations and achieve the overall objectives: greater freedom of choice, better service, more satisfied Stockholmers and value for money, says Jörgen Kleist, City Director of Stockholm. - Thanks to the agreement, we estimate a reduction of the City's IT costs by over SEK 20M annually, he says. - We are proud of our assignment and will do everything to ensure that the City of Stockholm will be a satisfied customer. In addition, the agreement is completely in line with TietoEnator's strategy of acting as a qualified co-operation partner, says Åke Plyhm, Deputy CEO of TietoEnator. This is the largest IT business transaction that has been carried out in the public sector in Sweden since the Public Procurement Act was introduced in the beginning of the 1990s. The agreement means that the present outsourcing supplier, WM-data's assignment ceases from 1 January 2001.
